The Eucharist Through the Ages

The plan:

To read together primary sources reflecting on the mysterious ritual at the heart of the Christian religion.

Frequency:

Every other week, 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Meeting times and schedule:

Alternate Wednesday evenings, 7:00 - 8:45, beginning Jan. 10. (It may be possible to adjust that time slightly if the group needs it.) This group will take a pause in late February and March and resume biweekly meetings on April 10, giving a total of 8 sessions for spring 2024.

Meeting venue:

Primarily online (via Zoom). In-person or hybrid meetings may happen if a critical mass of participants develops in or near Roanoke, Virginia.

Amount of reading:

Generally 40-45 pages for each session, thus about three pages per day of reading (though many of the texts will reveal their riches better if read more than once!)

How to acquire the texts:

Most of them will be distributed in .pdf form for participants to print at home. There will occasionally be a need to buy a book; those will be announced in plenty of time, with a variety of sourcing options (typically both new and used) given.

Commitment:

As with all our groups, you are welcome to come to as many, or as few, meetings as desired. Click the Sign-Up button below for pay-as-you go options and information about the free trial.
